Burnout Therapy for Women

Burnout Recovery

For women who are exhausted in a way that's hard to explain

Burnout is a tricky feeling

It builds slowly

A growing heaviness

Exhaustion scattered throughout your day

You try the usual fixes: go to bed early, cross a task off your list, things that normally restore your energy

But now, they aren't working

Sometimes, extra free time only makes you more aware of how exhausted you feel

There's a specific kind of tired that's hard to even put words to. The energy is gone before you can use it. You catch yourself going through the motions, smiling when you're supposed to, but feeling far away from it all

Then comes the tipping point when each day feels heavier than the last, small tasks feel impossible, you notice the loneliness and distraction

It's all really hard...and I'm glad you're here to talk about it

Here's where we start...

Burnout doesn't usually happen because you're doing too much.  It happens because almost nothing you're doing is actually for you.

The people in your life need you performance.  Your kids, partner, job, your role -  all depends on you showing up a certain way.  If you stop, someone else has to pick it up.  So you keeps going.  But the systems around you are not set up to ask how you're really doing.

Therapy is often the first place to say what you're actually thinking without being shut down, redirected, or handed something else to carry.  We start there.

From there we figure out how to carve out real space for you in your actual life, not just a bath and a candle, but places where your authenticity can actually breathe.  Build you up so you can handle whatever comes from backing away from the things that are draining you dry.

You're doing ALL the things

Work

Family

Responsibilities

And feeling so, so bone-tired

Maybe you've thought...

  • No one really gets how hard this is

  • I can't even explain how tired I am anymore

  • I just need to get to the end of the day

  • If I really let myself feel how bad this is, I will turn into a puddle on the floor and never get up

  • How long can I actually keep this up?

You're not failing.  You're burned out

Burnout / Stress:

What's the difference?

Burnout isn't just stress.  It's what happens when you've been strong and capable for so long that you're energy finally stops responding to the usual fixes

How we meet

I see clients in person at my office in St. Paul, virtually, or a mix of both — whatever works best for you.  If you're in Washington state, we'll meet virtually.

Most clients start weekly. Sessions are 55 minutes.  That said, we'll figure out what actually fits your life.

Ok, but...

?

Is this just normal life stress, or something more?

Some seasons are simply harder.  Situational and  everyday stress usually eases when you recharge.  Burnout is when the exhaustion lingers, recovery doesn't quiet work, and you feel that sense of emotional fragility

?

I'm getting through most days... do I still need therapy?

You're doing a lot and doing it well - therapy isn't about fixing failure, it's about helping you feel clearer, lighter, and more like yourself while still living your full life

?

I have kids, appointments, and a busy life... is therapy even realistic for me right now?

Therapy should fit into a full life, not compete with it.  It's ok if the answer is "not yet," "not weekly," "not in-person," or "something lighter for now"
